Zaheer Abbas
Zaheer is the Principal Lawyer at Kay Law and Mediation. Zaheer’s passion is to serve his clients with excellence and to find the best option available to resolve any legal matter. With Zaheer’s experience, his analytical and knowledgeable approach, he is able to accomplish positive outcomes for his clients. Zaheer practices Family Law, Real Estate, Wills & Estate and areas of general civil litigation. Zaheer regularly appears at the Provincial Court of Alberta and the Court of Queen’s Bench.
Zaheer was the founding President of the Edmonton Chapter of Global Lawyers of Canada which started in 2014 in Calgary and has become a National Organization with Chapters in Ontario and British Columbia.
Zaheer started his career as a Mechanical Engineer with the City of Edmonton/ Construction Services, Integrated Infrastructure Services. Zaheer’s past experience included drafting proposals and tenders for Engineering Infrastructure and Support Services. In this role, Zaheer would determine the scope and length of work, determine the evaluation procedure and response requirements from contractors. In addition, to experience in procurement of engineering services, Zaheer's 6+ years of engineering experience spans engineering design, construction, project management, 3-d modelling and on-site construction management.
Zaheer was a member of Engineers Without Borders at the University of New Brunswick and was elected Vice-President (Finance) and later the chapter Co-President. The Chapter was nationally recognized for the most improved and Zaheer was personally awarded the Third Century Merit Award for his leadership role.
In Zaheer’s free time, he enjoys spending time with his family, travelling, exploring new cultures , physical fitness training and blogging.
